Officer of the Month

Officer of the Month

For 2018, the department implemented an Officer of the Month program. Each month, Chief Scott Booth asks supervisors assigned to the Operations Division to select an officer that has gone “above and beyond” in the performance of his or her duties and write up a brief synopsis detailing those efforts. The members of the command staff then meet, review the submissions, and make a selection. The same process is also followed for the Services Division, and an officer assigned to a unit other than Operations is selected as well.

For the month of September 2018, we would like to congratulate Off. C. J. Snead (1st Platoon) for a job well done and his selection as our officers of the month!

C.J. Snead

On September 7th, Corporal Snead diligently maintained focus on determining the tag registration on a vehicle that picked up a missing juvenile from Galileo High School per CCTV. Because of his efforts, the driver of the vehicle was found, an arrest was made and the juvenile was returned safely. That same night, Corporal Snead also had an incident of Malicious Wounding (stabbing/cutting) where an arrest was made. Outstanding Work!

Corporal Snead began his career with Danville PD in March of 2006 and has had assignments with the Community Police Division, Street Crimes Unit, and the Patrol Division. Snead was promoted to Corporal in 2017, and is a SWAT Operator and has been with the unit since February 2013, Corporal Snead is currently in the Patrol Division assigned to 1st Platoon. Congratulations Corporal Snead on a job well done!
